THE BEST REMEDY FOR STRESS

Can we agree that we are in one of the most stressful times we've experienced as a country in a long time?

Between the pandemic, fires, flooding, hurricanes, our government, family stressors, work obligations, health concerns, money, businesses struggling, hospitals overcrowded, people arguing about masks and vaccines, schools trying to teach effectively, suicide rates increasing, mental health help decreasing, ALL THE UNCERTAINTY is making people cray cray!

All this stress can create havoc on our minds and bodies. Without even realizing it, stress can manifest itself in so many different ways. Irritability, anxiety, depression, confusion, lack of motivation, fatigue, anger, apathy, stomach issues, tight muscles, migraines, headaches, heart palpitations, indigestion, nausea, panic attacks, and the list goes on. I'm sure you have experienced a few of these symptoms yourselves.

It is SO important to remember to take care of ourselves during these times, but the sad reality is that we don't. Life can feel so chaotic and rushed that we barely take time to even take a deep breath. So, I urge you all to consider right now, to commit to making more time for yourselves. When your nervous system is on constant overload it's pushing out tons of stress hormones, cortisol, which is literally making you sick.

Some ways to decrease your stress are to get out in nature, exercise, eat healthier (yes I know, this one is hard especially when stressed...drinking that glass of wine with a bag of chips seems like a good idea in the moment but really isn't the best choice...I speak from experience lol), meditate, get a massage, take an epsom salt bath, talk to a friend, journal, do something creative you enjoy like one of your hobbies, and TA DA! Get a FACIAL!

WHAAAAT? Aren't those just for vain people that care about their looks?

ABSOLUTELY FREAKING NOT!!

Do you know how many people I see for facials that are there more for the relaxation than anything else? I am honored to listen in confidence as my clients share their most personal struggles and what they're going through in their lives. They seek out self-care in the form of a facial because they know how relaxing and pampering it is to receive. Facials help you get into the parasympathetic state where rest and digest, healing and repair occur. YOU NEED TO GET INTO THIS STATE MORE OFTEN FOR GOOD HEALTH! And this is one of those ways.

Make a promise to start taking better care of yourself. You must do this if you want to live a long, happy life okay! ( I saw you grabbing the chip bag, put it down)
